Police arrest wanted Ambazonian separatist leader in Taraba

The Cameroon Ambazonia commander terrorizing some Nigerian communities bordering the Republic of Cameroon for years, has been arrested by Taraba police command.

Addressing a press conference in Jalingo, the state capital, Taraba's Commissioner of Police, Abimbola Sokoya said the arrest of the Ambazonia leader, popularly known as General Bazil, is sequel to intelligence gathering over the years on his nefarious acts.

Shortly after Bazil was arrested in Kurmi Local Government Area of the state, other Ambazonian rebels began threatening to burn down the community should he not be handed back to them.

The police commissioner also used the opportunity of the press conference to warn against vote buying, thuggery and social vices that could lead to violence, insisting the Command will not tolerate trouble makers in the 2023 polls.
